The Trees Do Sing
Bare branches against the stars, and other moments of beauty.
Even the rocks will cry out.
I am “The Trees Do Sing”, a young woman with an insatiable thirst for beauty. I myself paint, draw, photograph, sew, and otherwise love to make art. I am also keenly interested in anthropology, language, classical studies, and theology.
I believe in Jesus, and this is significant because, ultimately, all my indulgences in artwork and intellect are an appeal to him—to knowing him better so that he might work at healing hurts through me little by little.
I believe that the moment of intense pain, longing, and pleasure one sometimes experiences while seeing or feeling something beautiful is the result of brushing up against God. It’s like the breath of the divine on the back of our necks.
